Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for administrative and customer support for the Location. The position requires moderate to high business acumen, light accounting experience, excellent interpersonal skills, organization and time management, and high proficiency in computer skills. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The Logistics Coordinator is expected to take direction from the Location Manager and will arrange the unloading of truck & rail, and load out of commodities. This includes accurately inputting information, generating reports, troubleshooting to resolve issues, and providing customer service to buyers, sellers, and vendors. Other duties include:

  • Provide logistical support for commodity shipments by truck or rail.  May include supplying and billing of equipment, tracing rail cars, troubleshooting delivery issues, and payment of freight.

  • Aid customers in resolving commodity, freight, accounting, and other issues.

  • Utilize computer programs to maintain purchases, sales, bookings, transportation, freight variance and daily position reports.

  • Other duties assigned by the Location Manager.

 Education / Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience is preferred.

  • Minimum 2-year business or other related degree required; 4 year degree preferred.

  • Commodity and logistics experience is preferred, but not mandatory for the right candidate with strong potential and motivation.

  • The ideal candidate will possess

    • Excellent follow-up skills, accuracy and attention to detail

    • Strong ability to multitask

    • Above average ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization and with external customers

  • Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
